From three to nine players for each team may be on the ice at one time.
Play can be from 7 to 15 minutes each period, then change teams or substitute players.
There are not a whole lot of rules to broomball however the rules we do have are for your safety.
Our goal as well as the goal of your team leader is for each participant to leave the game on their own two feet.
One: it is required that you wear a helmet at all time when on the ice
and only the players should be on the ice.
Two: there is no high sticking, the broom end (red) must be kept below
the knee at all times. (ie. no slap shots)
Three: do not throw sticks at any time, or pound stick (either end of stick)
on ice or any other object or person.
Four: do not kick the ball, (this is not soccer) or throw the ball in the air,
the ball must remain down on the ice at all times.
Five: no pushing, shoving, pulling, tripping, or pretending to fight that means no checking.
Six: to score a goal the ball must hit inside the net, and can not be kicked in by the other team.
Recommended clothing, tennis shoes and long pants, the temperature in the building
is about 70 degrees and when you are playing it gets warm. Your own padding is optional.
